& Cellar
Named after the beautiful acres of California vineyards where the green
vines are silhouetted against amber colored hillsides, Amberhill wines are
traditional blends of grapes from several of California’s prime grape growing
regions.  Blending fruit from valley, coastal, and hillside vineyards, the
winemakers have crafted wines with perfect balance between flavor and
acidity.  Ready to drink upon release, the finished wines are complex,
flavorful, smooth and appealing.

  • Appellation:  California

  • Case Production: 14,500

  • Vinification: The red wine grapes for Amberhill Merlot are crushed
several hours after picking and moved into stainless steel fermenting
tanks.  The wine is fermented, with skins,  for approximately 1 week, at
75-80°.   It is placed into French and American oak barrels for 10-12
months of oak aging before blending and bottling.

  • Flavor Profile: Flavorful and smooth, this young Merlot shows great
balance, nice texture, and prominent fruit character. Aromas of berrys
and toasted oak carry through to the pleasant, relaxing finish. A nice
match for grilled fish, BBQ’d meats and hearty pastas.

  • Cellaring Potential: Moderate aging potential of 3-5 years past the
    vintage date.

  • Alcohol:  13.8%
  • Residual Sugar: 0.05
  • Total Acidity:  0.75
  • Bottling Dates: March 2004
  • Varietal Blend: 80% Merlot, 20% Blended Reds
  • Release Date: April 2004
