Heartland Vintage Wines, Inc.
Heyl, Baron von Heyl Riesling 2002

Producer: The Heyl family has been involved in viticulture since 1800.
In 1900 they acquired their present manor house and cellars some of
which date from the 16th century. The Ahr family foundation owns and
manages the estate today.
Region / Vineyards: The vineyards along the Rhine or the Rhine terrace
around Nierstein are among the best in Rheinhessen, Germany's largest
wine region.
Vintage: After a long cold period in winter the growth of the shoots
proceeded fast and the blossoming went very well. A wonderful summer
followed with a perfect balance of rain and sunshine. A lot of rain
during harvest time reduced the expectations, but the excellent
suppositions the grapes had prior to harvest rewarded the vintners with
a very good vintage.
Taste Profile: The 2002 Baron Heyl Riesling has aromas and taste of
apricots and peaches with a racy and lively acidity balanced by a
delicate sweetness. A refreshing wine with a dry aftertaste.
Pairings: Perfect with Asian, Indian and Mexican cuisine, but also fine
to enjoy on summer evenings on the terrace or for garden parties.
Wine Profile: Alc. by Vol.: 11.05 %, residual sugar: 1.91 % (19.1g/l),
acidity: 0.99% (9.9 g/l)
Grape variety: 100 % Riesling Organically grown grapes
